S2 Episode 2 – Always Love the ones you Hurt

Black screen white text ‘Lovett and Die chapter fourteen – Always love the one you hurt-.
Fade from black to a bright sunny summer’s day, an idyllic happy scene of a London park; green grass, trees, people having picnics, some people playing football a small lake in the distance.
The acoustic guitar at the start of Republica’s ‘Ready to Go’ begins. The camera pans around the park. There is a high large hedge at one end of the park. Saffron (Samantha Marie Sprackling) softly sings.
Saffron -softly-: “Ready to go”
We slowing move in closer to the hedge, we pass people sitting having a picnic, a couple laying down making out, some kids flying a kite; we pan in and get lower looking up at the hedge; the sky is a bright blue and the hedge and vibrant green.
Saffron –softly-: “Ready to go”
A man and woman joggers run pass… and at 30 seconds into the song the heavy guitar starts and a bright yellow Ford Mustang Mach-E crashes through the hedge at waist height and lands heavily onto the grass, people start to running and screaming and others are looking round in panic. The Yellow Ford roars off across the grass skidding and speeding at people, people running out the way. The car runs over a picnic laid out and cut back to the hedge.
Die –shouting-: “Lovett NO!”
A black Jaguar F type crash through the hedge at head height and lands on the grass at 45 seconds into the song…
Saffron: “You’re weird, in tears!”
Lovett: “Shut up!”
Saffron: “Too near and too far away”
The F-type speeds across the park chasing the Ford. People are running everywhere. Shots of the two cars bumping and speeding across the park. Shocked people looking running and screaming.
Cut to the inside of the F type Lovett is driving and Die is opening the passage window and shouting out of it at the people.
Die: “Get out the way! Move, move!”
Cut to: Up a head is a man dress in painted sliver clothes and hat with sliver face paint he is being a living statue, he doesn’t move.
Cut back to inside the car; Lovett and Die look at each other.
Lovett: “He’s going to move right?”
Die: “Yeah.”
We are still inside the F type and through the wind shield we see the living statue getting closer the man isn’t moving. Zoom into the man’s face looking wide eyed. Zoom back out.
Die: “Or maybe not.”
Lovett pulls the steering wheel hard to her left. Cut to a view of the F type skidding pass the living statue just missing him. Close up of the living statue he has his eye squeezed tight shut.
Cut to back inside the F type.
Lovett: “Did I hit him?”
Die is looking out of the back.
Die: “Nope. You missed. Wow he is dedicated to his art.”
They both look at each
Lovett: “I’m turning round and having another go.”
They both smile and start to laugh and they look out the front and see a high metal fence that surrounds the park coming fast towards them.
Lovett & Die: “SHIT!”
Saffron: “Baby, I’m ready to go!”
Cut to a view of the F- type crashing through the fence and skidding sideway onto a road; the yellow Ford is just in sight a head of them. Cut to outside at the back of the F Type as it speeds off along the road after the ford, we hear Lovett.
Lovett: “I meant to do that.”
The song is still playing.
Saffron: “You get what you deserve.”
Cut to inside the F-type Die is looking at Lovett but she is just looking at the road a head
Saffron: “You’re strange, insane.”
Die looks back to wind shield, they are getting closer to the Yellow Ford. But there is a dustbin lorry just up ahead.
Die: “Lovett?”
Saffron: “One thing you can never change.”
Lovett: “I see it!”
Saffron: “It’s a crack, I’m back, yeah.”
Cut to the Ford mounting the pavement to go round the lorry.
Saffron: “I’m standing on the rooftops shouting out”
We see the f-type mounting the pavement too
Saffron: “Baby, I’m ready to go.”
Cut to the Ford skidding back on to the road there is a cross roads just ahead but two police cars are trying to block the way.
Saffron: “I’m back, I’m ready to go”
The Forde swerves left and gets passed both police cars.
Saffron: “From the rooftops, shout it out.”
The F-type come thundering after the Ford and clips the back of one of the police cars with its back right wing as it passes.
We watch as the two car speed off down the road
Lovett: “Opps”
Die: “Lovett!”
Lovett: “Black doesn’t show the dents!”
The song plays as we see more cuts and view of the car case a cross London. The Ford is all over the road but getting away and it suddenly turns sharply into a large multi-storey car park. The car park is right next to building site of a tall building with a high crane. As the F-Type get close Die shouts.
Die: “Stop!”
Lovett: “Where are they going?”
Die: “Stop the car!”
Lovett: “Why!?”
Die: “Stop!”
The black Jaguar F type screeches to a stop and Die gets out
Lovett: “What are you doing?!”
Die: “Trust me! Get after them!”
Die slams the car door and Lovett puts her foot down roaring the F-Type into the car park. The song is still playing. Cut to Die running into the building site.
Cut to shots of the yellow Ford skidding and screeches round the large multi-storey car park go up floor by floor.
Cut to Die shouting at a man in the building site, in the background the crane platform is on the ground and men are loading pipes onto it . Cut back to inside multi-storey car park as the black F-type screeches round and round the floors going higher and higher.
Cut to the top floor of the car park; it is nearly empty and roofless; the yellow Ford come roar out on the roofless part. Cut to inside the F-type Lovett is skidding round another corner not far behind the ford.
Lovett: “These idiots have nowhere to go!”
Cut to the side of the car park; Die is stand on the crane platform as it is getting higher and higher towards the car park top floor.
Saffron: “I’m back, I’m ready to go.”
Cut to the open top floor of the car park the yellow Ford is skidding round the top floor as the F type roars onto the top floor. The Ford stops facing the top floor entrance and the F type screams to a stop blocking its way back out.
Cut to Die Jumping off of the crane on to the top floor and stands by the surrounding wall far behind the Ford.
Saffron: “From the rooftops shout it out!”
The Ford revs and the song is coming to the end and saffron starts sing the last lines which are just -Baby, I’m ready to go- nine times.
The Ford’s wheels spin and speeds towards Lovett in the F type. Just as it is getting close it does a hand brake turn clipping the left hand side head light of the Jag’ and facing Die. The Ford revs hard and it speeds towards him.
Saffron : “Baby, I’m ready to go.”
Die: “My bloody car!”
Die’s right hand goes into the left side of his jacket and pulls out his gun. Cut to the Ford moving fast towards him. Back to Die and then back to the Ford and back to Die who is aiming his gun at the car. Cut to Lovett’s face .
Lovett: “No!”
Saffron : “Baby, I’m ready to go.”
Cut to Die firing the gun. A close up of the right front wheel of the Ford exploding. Cut to the inside of the F type through the wind shied we see from Lovett’s view as the Ford skids out of control and hits the surrounding car park wall smashing through it and plummeting off the building in a cloud of tyre smoke. Lovett rushes out of the car and runs toward where Die was.
Saffron: “Baby, I’m ready to go.” “Baby, I’m ready to go”
Cut to a slow motion view of the yellow Ford Mustang Mach-E falling. Cut to a slow motion of Lovett running. Cut back to the Ford falling and crashing into the ground.
Saffron: “Baby, I’m ready to go.” “Baby, I’m ready to go”
Lovett gets to the edge of the top floor and sees the car smashed onto the ground far below. We see her from behind close up as she is looking down.
Saffron: “Baby, I’m ready to go.”
Lovett: “Die!”
Saffron : “Baby, I’m ready to go.”
Cut to Die laying on the ground next her.
Die: “Yes?”
Lovett looks down at him
Saffron : “Baby, I’m ready to go.”
Lovett: “What the hell is it with you and roof tops!?”
Lovett kicks him.
Saffron : “Baby, I’m ready to go.”
The song ends and Die stands up and he and Lovett look over the edge of the roof and down at he smashed car.
Die: “At least it didn’t explode.”
The car explodes.
Lovett starts hitting him.
Lovett: “You just had to say it didn’t you!?”
Die: “Ow. Ow. Ow!”
Fade to black
Die: “OW!”
