Lovett: “I better hold your nose this time!”
Die: “Deep shit indeed.”
Fade to black.
Gary Numan singing from ‘I am Screaming’
For all the things that you could have been
Do you deserve forgiveness?
Of all the things that you could have seen
The blind could not have seen less
Fade from black to inside a large modem office room. There is a very large desk near a big window and ‘Boss Lady’ is sitting behind deck with the window behind her. In front of the deck is a dark green chesterfield settee. To Boss lady’s left on the wall is a huge TV screen, next to that in the corner is a large black medieval suit of armour it is posed in a fighting stance with a sword that looks more like spike in its left hand and mace in its right, it looks very out of place. There is very little else in the room. The women ‘Harry’ is standing by the door which is opposite the desk. The Boss Lady nods her head and Harry opens the door.
Harry: “Alpha-Three will see you now Six-Seven and Miss Lovett.”
Lovett and Die walk in, Lovett is trying to not look nervous, Harry is walking to stand to the right of desk and she gestures towards the chesterfield settee. Die and Lovett sit; Lovett is looking round the room and is taken aback by the suit of armour.
Alpha-Three: “Harry if you will please.”
Harry picks up from the desk a small tablet and moves her finger on it. The large TV screen lights up and there is a picture of Die shooting a grey haired man.
Alpha-Three: “Six-Seven that does not look like you are arresting Sir Martin to me like you were assigned to.”
Love: “What?”
Die: “Shush.”
Lovett: “Don’t you shush me!”
Alpha-Three: “Both of you be quiet!” “Harry continue please.”
Harry moves a fingers and another picture replaces it. It is Die shooting Jacques on the roof. The next one is of Die on his knees with Lovett holding her baton standing behind me. The next picture is a picture of Die standing, his face is very clear. The next is of Lovett searching Die. The next is the same roof at night, slightly different angle of Lovett and Die standing not very far apart.
Harry: “This next one was sent to Alpha-Three’s secured email via an address we cannot trace. And as far as we know is not on the World Wide Web… yet.”
This picture is darker and more pixelated and from a very high angle but it is easy to make out a suburban street and man in a black suit and a woman in a red coat are standing very close to each other by a gate.
Lovett: “Deep shit.”
Alpha-Three: “Indeed Detective Lovett.” “Detective Lovett as of this moment you are now on an extended absents of leave from the Met’…”
Lovett: “What?!”
Alpha-Three: completely ignores Lovett.
Alpha-Three: “And you Six-Seven are now useless to this department. We are considering early retirement for you.”
Lovett: “That isn’t fair; it’s the bloody internet everyone will have forgotten in a week”!
Alpha-Three: “Detective if you interrupt me once more I will have Harry here take you on a guided tour of the secret detention facility , that is deep below this building; and I have feeling she will delighted to forget which cell she locks you in for a very long time. Do I make myself clear?”
Lovett: “Yes, yes you do.”
Alpha-Three: “You are, however, correct. People will forget but alas other government agencies, assassins, terrorist organisations and facial recognition software all over the world will not.”
Die: “My face is all over the internet Lovett. I am useless as a secret agent. None of this is your fault, it is all mine.”
Alpha-Three takes a very loud deep breath; she is losing patience with both of them. Say to Die.
Alpha-Three: “Do you deserve forgiveness?”
Die: “No Sir. Sorry Sir, please continue.”
Alpha-Three: “As it seems you are both in danger…”
She point to the picture still on the screen of the two them outside Lovett’s house.
Alpha-Three: “… you are to be taken to safe house ‘beta three A’. Six-Seven you will be leaving here via exit strategy twenty four.”
Lovett: “For how long!?”
Alpha-Three: “Until I lose the urge to have you both publicly executed at the Tower of London Detective!” “And before you ask there are clothes your size at the safe house.”
Lovett: “But…”
Alpha-Three: “AND! I have sent two of my operatives to your house to collect some of your things for you too!” … “Though I understand they are both now requesting trauma therapy and complete decontamination procedures.”
Die snorts a little laugh and Lovett looks at him angrily. Alpha-Three looks at Die disapprovingly.
Dies: “Sorry Sir.”
Alpha-Three: “You will both now kindly… ‘piss off’ out of my sight!”
Die pokes Lovett to stand and they walk to the door.
Alpha-Three: “Shaggy and Scooby!”
Lovett and Die stop and turn to look at Alpha-Three. She is looking at the picture of them on the large screen.
Alpha-Three: “If I see one more picture of you two together like this I will think of something…”
She looks over at the suit of armour.
Alpha-Three: “… medieval to do to you both!”
Die pushes Lovett towards the door.
Die: “Move. Move… move quicker!”
Fade to black.
Fade black from to: We are zooming in on silver Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate. It is driving along next to the River Thames, the driver is a young man dressed in a black. The back seats of the car are down and the whole back is full of moving boxes and bags and house hold stuff; it looks like someone is moving home.
In the car: There are muffled voices from under the boxes and bags.
Lovett: “You’re Boss seems nice.”
Die: “Yes. She did take that a lot better than I thought she would.”
Lovett: “Does this ‘shit’ of yours get any deeper?”
Die: “I wouldn’t let go of your pretty nose yet if I was you, just in case.”
Lovett: “I know I have said this before but I feel it needs repeating. “I hate you.”
Die: “I get that a lot.”
Lovett: “I bet you do.” … “Would you please move your hand?” “Not like THAT!” “Stop it” “Stop”
Die: “I was trying to break some of the stress and tension.”
Lovett: ““I’ll break your fingers!”
She stifles a giggle
Lovett: “Git.”
Die: “I think you are warming to me Detective.”
Lovett: “Yeah like a flamethrower.” “Am I Shaggy or Scooby?”
Die -like Scooby Doo-: “Rreye rron’t row.”
Lovett: “I better get some Scooby snacks.” “Stop it!”
They both giggle like children
We see the car drive down into the underground parking of a tall build apartment building overlooking the Thames.
Fade to black.
Hold your Nose
