A bit more Ballroom Blitz

Lovett: “Oh for god’s sake. Is this what he is like when he is bored?!”
Sigourney: “I think that, that Miss Genevieve is going to keep him entertained.”
Lovett glares at Sigourney.
Sigourney: “Sorry dear. Just me thinking out loud.” “Would you like a mint?”
Lovett: “Yes. Please.”
Cut to black.
Fade from black to Die entering the bank manager’s office. The office is four meters by three with no windows and there is a desk opposite the door. As Die closes the door behind him Genevieve is sitting on the edge of the desk facing him (she still wearing her coat) she is touching up her red lipstick and Die’s gun is on the desk on her right side. Genevieve puts the lid on to the lipstick puts it into her pocket and picks up the gun and looks at Die.
Genevieve: “I thought we’d better have a little chat.”
Die: “Another? I’m not sure you’d like anything I have to say.”
Genevieve points the gun at Die.
Genevieve: “Then, you should be quiet and listen to what I have to say.”
Die: “As you wish.”
Genevieve: “My associate is not best pleased that he was so easily take down by a girl and he is itching for a rematch. I will do me utmost to prevent this but… if it should happen it would be for the best, for you and her, that you do not get involved.”
Die: “First off; She is a woman not a girl. Second; Andy… should be grateful that Lovett was in a hurry. She is not shy about kicking a man while he is down. Thirdly; She rarely needs me to get involved and lastly but by no means least…
Die looks Genevieve slowly up and down.
Die: “…You and I need a rematch at some point too.”
Genevieve reaches up with her left hand and undoes two more buttons of her blouse; her peach coloured bra is clearly visible now. She opens her legs wider.
Genevieve: “Come here Die.”
Die moves slowly towards her, his eyes locked on to hers. He gets very close to her, standing between her legs; he doesn’t flinch when the barrel of his gun that Genevieve is holding presses against his crotch. Their faces are very close and Genevieve tilts her head slightly to her right and leans in as if to kiss Die on the lips but she kisses the left side for his white shirt collar leaving a very clear red lipstick mark. She leans back slightly and pulls the hammer of the gun back, its clicking noise is the only sound we here. They look into each other’s eyes for a moment. Zoom in for a close up of their faces their lips are barely 10cm apart and Genevieve chest is press against Dies
Genevieve: “She doesn’t know does she?”
Die: “There is very little Lovett doesn’t know.”
Genevieve: “She doesn’t know that you… are hopelessly in love with her.”
Die: “I am hopeless at a lot of things.”
Genevieve: “No. You are as insane as it possible for a sane man to get.”
Cut to the door opening and Andy sticking his round the door.
Andy: “I’m nearly…”
He is taken aback by what he sees. Die and Genevieve have not moved at all. Andy’s face hardens.
Andy: “… ready.”
Genevieve slowly moves her head to her left looking over Die’s shoulder and look at Andy.
Genevieve: “Good. I will be there when I am finished here.”
Andy: “But…”
Genevieve: “When I am finished here.”
Andy nods, leaves and closes the door. Genevieve looks back at Die.
Genevieve: “I had a proposal for you.”
Die: “Sorry, I’m not the marring type.”
Genevieve: “I was going to ask you to join us. I could use a man like you.”
Die looks down at Genevieve chest and then back to her eyes.
Die: “’Use’ is the important word in that sentence isn’t it?”
Genevieve: “We are about to make a lot of money. Enough for all of us, including you, to retire in peace and comfort for the rest of our lives.”
Die: “I have all the peace and comfort I can stand thank you.”
Genevieve moves in towards him and gently touches his lips with her lips and whispers
Genevieve: “Pity.”
Die-also whispers-: “Wrong time.”
Genevieve: “Wrong place.”
Genevieve straightens up and pushes Die back with her left hand.
Genevieve: “Your place is back with the others now.”
Die: “You are as close to sane as an insane woman can get.”
Genevieve: “You have no idea.” “Move now please, cutie Die.”
Die turns and moves towards the door.
Genevieve: “I would have been worth it you know?”
Die: “I know… But my hopelessness beats your proposal, I’m afraid.”
Genevieve: “You are an idiot.”
Die: “I hear that a lot.”
Genevieve messes up her hair with her left hand as they leave the room; cut to black.
We hear Brian Connolly sing;
-“And the girl in the corner is everyone’s mourner”-
-“She could kill you with a wink of her eye”-

The blend of song and action, the palpable tension, the dialogue that speaks volumes beyond the actual words you wrote (Seriously, I can almost FEEL the characters’ body language in this episode!) turn this into a real treat to be able to read again and again. ❤
